Privacy Notice
Who we are
The Campervan Shortlist is a UK sole trader business run by Alex ("we", "us"). You can contact us via the Enquire page about anything in this notice.
What we collect
When you use the Enquire form, we collect your name, email address and, if you give it, your phone number — plus what you tell us about your search: how you plan to use the van, budget range, vehicle type, berths needed, timescale, and any free-text details you add.
Why we collect it, and our legal basis
We use this information to prepare and discuss a shortlist with you and to respond to your enquiry — that's necessary to provide the service you've asked for. Where we occasionally rely on legitimate interest instead (for example, keeping basic records of enquiries for our own administration), we only do so where it doesn't override your own rights and interests.
Who we share it with
We don't pass your details to a dealer, converter or private seller until you've agreed to a specific introduction — we'll always tell you who that would be and what would be shared beforehand. We don't sell your information to third parties, and we don't use it for marketing unless you've separately asked to hear from us.
How long we keep it
We keep enquiry information for as long as is reasonably useful to the search you've asked about, and for a limited period afterwards in case you get back in touch — generally no more than 24 months from your last contact with us, unless you ask us to delete it sooner.
Your rights
Under UK data protection law, you can ask us to: give you access to the information we hold about you; correct it if it's wrong; delete it; restrict or object to how we use it; or provide it to you in a portable format. Where we rely on your consent for something, you can withdraw that consent at any time. To exercise any of these, get in touch via the Enquire page. If you're unhappy with how we've handled your information, you can also complain to the UK's Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.

Terms of Use
What this service is
The Campervan Shortlist is a one-to-one search and shortlisting service for UK campervan and motorhome buyers. We're not a dealer, we don't sell vehicles ourselves, and we're not a marketplace or listings site — we research the market on your behalf and bring you a considered shortlist.
Our role, and its limits
As set out in How It Works, we don't conduct viewings or test drives, negotiate on your behalf, handle deposits or purchase funds, give legal, finance, insurance or warranty advice, or carry out a mechanical or habitation inspection. Once you choose to proceed with a seller, the transaction is between you and them, on their terms — we always recommend arranging an independent inspection before you commit, especially on a private sale.
How the service is paid for
There's no fee to you for using The Campervan Shortlist. Some dealers or converters may pay us a referral fee if an introduction leads to a completed purchase; a shortlist can include sellers who don't pay a referral fee, and selection follows your brief, not who pays. Where a fee-paying relationship is relevant to your shortlist, we'll disclose it to you clearly and in writing before any introduction is made.
Accuracy of information
We do our best to check shortlist information against what a seller has told us or listed publicly, and we'll flag anything we're unsure about — but we can't guarantee that every detail (condition, mileage, specification, availability, price) is accurate or current, since it ultimately comes from a third party. Always verify the details that matter to you directly with the seller before committing.
Your responsibilities
We ask that the information you give us in your enquiry is accurate, so we can put together a shortlist that's genuinely useful — and that you make your own checks, including an independent inspection, before you buy.
Liability
We provide this service with reasonable care and skill, but to the extent the law allows, we're not liable for the acts, omissions, vehicles or conduct of any dealer, converter or private seller we introduce you to, or for losses arising from a purchase decision you make. Nothing in these terms limits liability that can't legally be limited, such as for fraud or for death or personal injury caused by negligence.
Complaints
If something's gone wrong, tell us via the Enquire page and we'll aim to respond within a reasonable time and do what we reasonably can to put it right.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales.
